This focused 3-day series introduces students to throwing off the hump, creating multiple identical forms, while building confidence in working with larger amounts of clay.
Day 1 - Centering & Cylinders ( Dec 1)
Learn how to center 5+ lbs of clay with stability and ease
Practice coning up and down for improved clay control
Throw even, straight-walled cylinders off the hump
Understand body mechanics to reduce strain and increase efficiency
Day 2 - Shaping & Repetition (Dec 8)
Learn how to measure for uniformity using tombo sticks or calipers
Shape cylinders into functional forms with consistent dimensions
Understand proportion, silhouette, and wall thickness
Techniques for refining the lip, shoulder, and base off the hump.
Day 3 - Throw 3 Matching Cups using Tools (Dec 15)
Throw three matching cups using measurement tools
Fine tune form, height and volume for cohesive sets
Demo on trimming considerations for off-the-hump pieces
Best practices for drying and prepping for trimming or glazing
Confidence centering and throwing with larger clay amounts
Understanding of repeatable measurement systems
Ability to throw consistent forms off the hump
A set of 3-5 matching cups
Skills applicable to production throwing and advance wheel practice
Pieces will be bisqued only. Ready for pick up 2 weeks after the last session.

Join us for an engaging and practical Wheelthrowing Workshop. This class includes all the necessary materials for you to make 2-3 pieces, which will be trimmed and glazed by the instructor (see pictures for glaze reference). Some commonly made items are cups, bowls, plates, ashtray, small planter, small vases, etc.
Group 1 Day Workshops $100 per person have set times, - 2 hour class please click on drop down menu to see available dates and times. Please see cancellation policy. The group consists of 6 participants.

If you are interested in being a part of the WHOLE process behind making pottery, we recommend a , or a 3 Day Workshop or a 6 Week Class
Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup just 3-4 weeks after the workshop, allowing you to proudly display your handmade pottery.

3-Day Wheel-Throwing Workshop
Join us for an immersive 3-day wheel-throwing workshop, perfect for students of all skill levels—whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Over the course of three sessions, you'll explore the full ceramic process from start to finish, learning essential techniques such as wedging, throwing, trimming, adding handles, carving, and glazing to create unique ceramic pieces.
Workshop Schedule:
Day 1: Saturday, 2 PM - 4:30 PM
Begin with the fundamentals of wedging and throwing on the wheel. You'll learn how to prepare the clay and form your initial shapes.
Day 2: Sunday, 2 PM - 4:30 PM
Focus on trimming your pieces, refining their shapes, and potentially adding handles or carving for more personalized designs.
Day 3: The Following Sunday, 2 PM-4PM
Meet for the final session to glaze your pieces. Choose from our variety of colored glazes to add the finishing touch to your creations.

This in-depth workshop is designed to accommodate students of all levels:
Beginners will learn foundational skills and create simple pieces like bowls and mugs.
Intermediate and advanced students can take on more challenging projects, such as jars, teapots, or intricately carved pieces.
Participants typically create 2-3 pieces during the sessions. All finished pieces will be available for pickup 2-3 weeks after the final class, allowing time for the glazing and firing process.

Offering Beginner and Intermediate Level Classes
During the 6-week group course, we'll meet once a week for 2 hours, Class is $450 per person with all materials are included. There are no make up sessions for missed days.
Private 6-week classes are available for groups of 2-6 people, Mon-Fri 11am-5pm. Class is $600 per person with all materials included, PLUS a 6 week membership trial. Please email us to schedule your private class.
No previous experience needed, perfect for first timers / beginners .

Week 3: Intro to trimming exploring open VS closed forms
Week 4: Practice Day Each student can focus on a particular form to practice
Week 5: Trimming Day
Week 6: Intro to glazing. You will be glazing all the pieces you have made.
Pick up for pieces are 2-3weeks after class
Requirements: Must have taken our beginner 6 week class. Or must be able to center and pull with confidence and efficiency

In this 6-week hand-building workshop, we’ll meet once a week for 2 hours, all materials included. We encourage all participants in the class so enroll in their membership to access open studio time.
You’ll learn core hand building techniques—such as pinching, coiling, and slab building—to create both functional and sculptural pieces. We’ll also explore surface decoration with underglazes and slips, using methods like inlay and sgraffito.
Class Outline
Day 1 – Introduction to coils and pinch pots
Day 2 – Slab building: stamps and inlay with slips/underglaze
Day 3 – Slab building continued: introduction to sgraffito
Day 4 – Open project: expand into functional or sculptural forms using learned techniques
Day 5 – Open project: final handbuilding session
Day 6 – Glazing: pieces will be fired and ready for pickup 3–4 weeks after class
One hour per day, Private hand building classes can be scheduled Monday-Friday 11am-5pm or weekends at 11 am.
We offer a variety of techniques such as slab building, coil and pinching, which can be applied to the project of your choosing , for either functional (bowls , planters, cups etc) or sculptural.
Depending on the complexity of your project, 2 or 3 days might be needed. Please select two days, to get started. Please email or upload us a picture of your any idea you would like to work on.
