Hand-Building Workshop
Duration: 2.5 hours
Join us for our brand-new Hand-Building Workshop, where you’ll learn the basics of hand-building while having the freedom to create a project of your choice.
This is an open-format class, so you can bring your own ideas and make something that feels uniquely yours. You can choose to spend your time creating one larger, more time-consuming piece, or make multiple smaller, quicker pieces. Each participant can make up to 3 pieces during the workshop.
We’ll provide the tools, materials, and instruction you need to bring your project to life. Not sure what to make? We’ll have templates and ideas available for functional pieces such as mugs, bowls, and plates.
Students are encouraged to come with ideas and reference photos for creative or sculptural projects. Our instructors will guide you through the techniques needed to make your pieces.
No wheel required and absolutely no experience necessary. This class is open to beginners, intermediate or advanced and anyone looking to explore hand-building in a relaxed, creative environment.
Receive hands-on guidance from our instructor, or work independently at your own pace.
All finished pieces will be clear glazed and high-fired by our team. Pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 3–5 weeks after the class.
Part 1: The Making (1-2 Hours): Our expert instructors will guide you through the fundamentals of shaping, joining, and texturing your clay. You’ll spend the session designing and building your unique project from scratch using either slab-building, coil or pinching techniques.
Part 2: The decorating ( last 30-60min ): Stay at the studio to decorate your piece with underglaze. Use our stamps and choose from inlaying to sgraffito. Or leave it bare resulting in a beautiful speckled b mix look (reference picture )
We keep our class sizes small so everyone gets plenty of hands-on guidance, which means spots are limited. If your plans change, here is our policy:

Rescheduling: Requests to change your class dates must be requested by email.
No-Shows: Missing your class without notice results in a forfeit of the booking. It cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
