By typing your name in this form, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to the
following terms and conditions for participation in a Mudd Studio workshop:
1. Safety & Conduct: I agree to follow all instructions provided by Mudd Studio
staff regarding the safe use of tools, equipment, and materials. I understand that
pottery involves working with sharp tools, clay, and glazes, and I will exercise
caution to prevent injury. I will conduct myself in a respectful manner towards
staff and other participants.
2. Property Damage: I understand that I am responsible for any damage I may
cause to Mudd Studio property, tools, or equipment due to negligence or
misuse.
3. Finished Pieces:
◦ I understand that while Mudd Studio takes great care in firing, there is an
inherent risk in the kiln firing process, and pieces can sometimes crack,
break, or be damaged unexpectedly. Mudd Studio is not responsible
for any damage to or loss of pieces during or after the firing process.
◦ I understand that pieces must be picked up within 30 days after
notification that they are ready. Pieces not picked up within this timeframe
may be discarded or donated.
4. Personal Property: Mudd Studio is not responsible for any loss, theft, or
damage to my personal belongings brought onto the premises.
5. Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that participation in pottery workshops
involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to cuts, scrapes, burns,
allergic reactions to materials, or other minor injuries. I voluntarily assume all
such risks associated with my participation.
6. Waiver and Release: I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and
assigns, hereby waive, release, discharge, and covenant not to sue Mudd Studio,
its owners, employees, instructors, and agents from any, and all claims,
demands, actions, or causes of action, for any, and all damages, injuries
(including death), losses, or expenses of any kind arising out of or in connection
with my participation in Mudd Studio workshops or presence on its premises,
whether caused by the negligence of Mudd Studio or otherwise, to the fullest
extent permitted by law.
7. Medical Treatment: In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I authorize
Mudd Studio staff to seek and obtain emergency medical attention for me if I
am unable to do so, and I agree to be responsible for any costs incurred.
